These terms govern use of the public website and, where no separate signed agreement applies, access to services provided under the Step Ahead brand. A signed order form, subscription agreement, data-processing agreement, acceptable-use policy, or service-level agreement controls if it conflicts with these general terms.
1. Eligibility and authority
You must have authority to create the account, accept these terms, represent the stated institution, and use the selected role. Institutions are responsible for deciding who may administer their environment and approving appropriate teacher, student, and guardian memberships.
2. Accounts and security
Account information must be accurate and kept current. Credentials, verification links, invitation codes, licences, secret keys, and security controls must not be shared, sold, bypassed, or used to access another institution or role. Suspected compromise must be reported promptly.
3. Permitted use
The website and platform may be used only for authorised educational, administrative, support, evaluation, and related institutional purposes. Users must not interfere with the service, probe or bypass security, introduce malicious code, scrape protected data, misuse provider capacity, impersonate another person, or use the platform unlawfully.
4. Institution responsibilities
The institution is responsible for account approvals, role assignment, academic records, source-content rights, classroom permissions, consent practices where required, provider configuration, human review, publication decisions, retention, user support, and incident response within its deployment.
5. Content and generated output
Users must have the right to upload, process, translate, convert, store, publish, and distribute source material. Speech recognition, transcripts, translations, OCR, summaries, questions, answers, and other generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete and must be reviewed by an authorised person before academic, administrative, or public use.
6. Third-party services
Some features depend on hosting, browsers, devices, networks, storage, email, speech, translation, audio, document, AI, calendar, classroom, media, and other providers. Their availability, limits, pricing, terms, locations, and data practices may change. The applicable commercial agreement should identify material third-party dependencies.
7. Fees, usage, cancellation, and refunds
Fees, capacity, provider usage, taxes, billing cycle, renewal, cancellation, and refund eligibility are defined in the applicable order form or subscription terms. Usage already consumed, third-party charges, migration, configuration, training, and custom services may be non-refundable unless the applicable agreement states otherwise.
8. Availability and changes
The service may be changed, limited, suspended, or maintained to protect security, comply with law, manage capacity, address provider changes, or improve operation. Any guaranteed uptime, response, recovery, support, capacity, or remedy must be stated in signed commercial terms.
9. Suspension and termination
Access may be restricted for suspected compromise, abuse, legal risk, non-payment, capacity violation, provider misuse, or material breach. On termination, access and data handling follow the applicable agreement, retention policy, legal requirements, and technically available export or deletion process.
10. Intellectual property
The platform, theme, documentation, interface, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Customers and users retain their rights in authorised source content and institution data, subject to the licences needed to provide the configured service.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided subject to the warranties, exclusions, liability limits, and remedies stated in the applicable agreement. The platform does not guarantee learning outcomes, uninterrupted provider availability, error-free generated content, or suitability for a purpose not included in the agreed scope.
12. Governing terms and contact
These terms are governed by the laws and courts of Haryana/India, unless a signed agreement states otherwise. Questions may be sent to support@perfectaptitude.com.
